Tomi Luukkainen

As counsel in our Employment group based in Helsinki, I focus on all aspects of Employment Law as well as Employment-related Dispute Resolution.

I advise our domestic and international corporate clients on a comprehensive range of employment and HR matters on a daily basis. With an extensive experience of handling matters from a variety of areas of Employment Law, I provide advice on employment and executive agreements and service relationship matters, restructuring of work, co-operation procedures and terminations of employment, data protection in work life, as well as dispute and settlement of issues relating to Employment Law matters.

Before joining our firm for the first time, I worked as an associate in a smaller law firm building up a broader perspective across several fields of law, including employment, litigation and arbitration. Whilst at Bird & Bird for over six years, I advised on a broad range of employment-related matters across various industries, global and domestic projects, giving training to management or other staff, and handling litigations in general and administrative courts.

I have gained valuable experience on the client side by working in a multinational growth company as an in-house counsel responsible for a key business area across 20+ countries, before returning to Bird & Bird in the autumn of 2021.
