I am an associate in our Dispute Resolution Group in Singapore, with a particular focus on advising and representing clients in disputes emanating from the infrastructure, construction & engineering, energy and telecommunications sectors.
I have represented local, foreign and multinational clients in various forms of dispute resolution including litigation, arbitration (both domestic and cross-border), adjudication and mediation. Currently, I mainly act for clients in complex and high-value multijurisdictional arbitrations under various major institutional rules, including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
I am experienced in advising a broad spectrum of clients including employers, contractors and consultants on the entire life cycle of construction & engineering projects – from tendering, contract drafting and negotiation to contract management, termination and dispute resolution. I routinely work with clients to resolve a range of construction-related issues including ground conditions, time and cost claims, fitness for purpose, defects, performance bonds, completion and termination.
Having previously worked as a client-facing market insights consultant, I am equipped with a keen understanding of clients' business and industry drivers, and I fully appreciate that clients want commercially sensible and cost-effective solutions to their legal problems. I therefore build my practice on adopting a pragmatic and commercial approach in finding bespoke solutions that serve my clients' best interests. This means approaching each matter with the overall business strategy in mind and providing advice on the strategic use of dispute resolution processes to minimise business risks at every step of the way.
