Dr. Yannick Möller, LL.M.

I am an associate in our commercial team in Düsseldorf and I advise domestic and international clients on all aspects of civil, commercial and distribution law, with a special focus on the automotive and retail & consumer sector.

As part of our Automotive Sector Group, I am advising clients from the automotive industry (mostly suppliers and insurance companies) on general contract law, warranty, and product liability issues at any step of the supply chain. I support our clients by drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts as well as standard agreements and general terms and conditions, often in a cross-border context. Furthermore, our clients rely on my expertise when it comes to price negotiations, delivery stops and termination of (long-term) supply agreements, as well as in cases of contract law and risk management.

I am also a member of Bird & Bird's Retail & Consumer Group. Our clients come from across a variety of different sectors such as fashion, food and beverages, as well as beauty. A main area of my practice here includes advising our clients on all aspects of logistics and distribution law, e.g. contractual distribution systems involving sales intermediaries and authorized dealers.

During my professional master studies at the University of Cape Town I gathered deep insights and knowledge in various fields of international commercial law, such as advanced contract law and international commercial transaction law. I graduated successfully with an LL.M. degree.

Before joining our firm, I worked for a boutique law firm in Düsseldorf specialized in antitrust and competition law, where one of my main practice areas was distribution antitrust law.

• Advising a Tier-1 automotive supplier on various contractual disputes with a major German OEM
• Advising a Tier-2 automotive supplier on enforcing damage claims against a German Tier-1 automotive supplier resulting from an unlawful contract termination
• Enforcing warranty claims for a client from the automotive sector in relation to a software licensing agreement
• Supporting a Tier-1 automotive supplier with an early termination of a delivery agreement with an US-based OEM due to an unprofitable contract
• Advising an automotive supplier in relation to the insolvency of one of its suppliers
• Providing legal advice for a leading conveyor technology manufacturer with regard to possible delivery obligations in case of fraudulent misrepresentation
• Revising the general terms and conditions for a large medical equipment manufacturer
