Poland: Agnieszka Besierkierska, Paulina Grotkowska and Marcin Eckert join the Bird & Bird team

Agnieszka Besiekierska, PhD is an attorney [adwokat], and a counsel in the Tech & Comms team.  Agnieszka is a distinguished lawyer with more than 10 years' experience in the fields of internet, e-commerce, IT and telecommunications law.  She has advised the country's largest businesses from the IT and new technologies sectors, and has extensive experience in telecommunications law, IT projects and internet law as broadly understood, having advised on many innovative projects on the Polish market.  She has frequently been delegated to work at clients' work establishments, and so has an excellent grasp of the nature of the work of in-house lawyers.  She is experienced in handling large, multi-jurisdictional projects and in providing ongoing advice.

Paulina Grotkowska is an attorney [adwokat], and an associate on the Labour Law team.  For more than nine years she has specialized in advising on individual and collective employment relationships.  She has taken part in mergers and acquisitions, company admissions to the stock exchange, work establishment restructuring projects, analyses of the compliance of corporate activities with labour law requirements, issues related to transfers of work establishments, group layoffs, voluntary leave programmes, and internal allocations.  She also advises clients on all matters relating to their ongoing activities, particularly in connection with hiring managerial Staff and delegating personnel abroad.  She has extensive experience in representing clients in court proceedings within the scope of labour and social security law.  

Marcin Eckert is an attorney [radca prawny], a senior associate on the tax team.  For more than 20 years he has specialized in the areas of domestic and international tax law and employment and labour law as broadly understood.  He has extensive experience in advising on tax optimization for companies, employment issues, incentive plans, employee benefits, services related to employee global mobility, and corporate tax planning.  As a director of tax departments and in his own practice, Marcin has provided a full range of tax advisory services, including on personal income tax, transfer pricing, VAT, etc.  He represents clients before administrative courts, including the SAC, in various tax and social insurance matters, as well as in fiscal matters and in contacts with tax and government administration.
