Bird & Bird advises Bpifrance's SPI 2 fund on Khimod's €23 million fundraising

International law firm Bird & Bird advised Bpifrance's SPI 2 fund on its participation in the €23 million fundraising round for French climate tech start-up Khimod, which specialises in the development of low-carbon synthetic molecule production and CO2 recovery technologies.

The financing was provided by Bpifrance's SPI 2 fund and Audacia's Calderion industrial decarbonisation fund, alongside Alcen, a long-standing shareholder.

With this new funding, the French climate tech company, founded in 2019, aims to deploy several industrial demonstrators, strengthen its production capacities and expand its activities in France and internationally.

Bird & Bird advised Bpifrance on this transaction with a team comprising Carole Bodin, partner, and Ahmed Khlif, associate, for corporate matters, and Thomas Oster, partner, and Elsa Mandel Benichou, associate, for competition law matters.

McDermott Will & Emery advised Khimod with Anthony Paronneau, partner, Bertrand Delafaye, partner, Natacha Vasak and Pauline Orliange, associates.
