I am an associate in our Corporate team in Copenhagen. I advise clients on national and international M&A matters and corporate law matters within a wide range of industries.

International law firm Bird & Bird has assisted the Danish private equity firm, Dansk Ejerkapital, in acquiring a significant minority stake in GreyBird Aviation Group ApS, the company behind Denmark's largest pilot school and one of the Nordic region's leading educational institutions for commercial pilots, GreyBird Pilot Academy.

With the acquisition of shares in GreyBird Aviation Group ApS, Dansk Ejerkapital aims to assist management in accelerating the company's ambition to expand its business to new markets in Europe. The partnership will also provide the company with valuable support and expertise to achieve its growth objectives.

The Bird & Bird team, led by partner Morten Rosenmejer with assistance from associates Caroline Smith, Laura Tougaard, and Christian Guldager Petersen, has played a key role in facilitating the acquisition and the successful completion of the transaction.

GreyBird Aviation Group ApS offers commercial pilot education and training in Denmark, Sweden, and Andalusia, Spain, providing valuable training and flight hours to hundreds of aspirants.

Dansk Ejerkapital is a Danish private equity firm with 30 years of experience as a minority investor in businesses headquartered in Denmark. The firm focuses on small and medium-sized companies within technology, production, trade and service niches, and provides growth capital through minority shareholdings of 25-50% and active participation through the board of directors.

The acquisition of shares in GreyBird Aviation Group ApS marks the first investment in Dansk Ejerkapital's new fund VI, which was announced earlier this summer.
