International law firm Bird & Bird advised Norwegian-based Hydrogen Dynamo AS and its sole shareholder, Victor Henning, in a significant transaction, namely on the sale of its shares in Norwegian smartphone photography startup Fjorden Electra AS, a developer of smartphone apps and accessories, to Leica Camera AG.
The German premium manufacturer Leica has been working together with the Norwegian company Fjorden Electra since the beginning of 2023 as part of a technological partnership. The business models of both companies complement each other perfectly: Fjorden Electra brings extensive know-how in the development of iOS camera apps and iPhone accessories, while the Leica Mobile development team contributes its expertise in image processing and image quality. By working together, the two teams are creating an important basis for the further development of professional camera apps for high-quality mobile phone photography.
Fjorden Electra, the target company in this transaction, is recognised for its innovative contributions to photography related technology and related products for mobile phones, such as apps and photography equipment.
Leica Camera AG is a German developer, manufacturer and seller of products for image capture, image processing and image reproduction as well as remote optics, additional devices and accessories.
