Bird & Bird ATMD has advised KIP, one of the largest venture capital firms in South Korea, on its strategic investment in LiveIn, a Malaysia-based property rental startup in its pre-Series B fundraising.
LiveIn secured over USD 10.95 million in its extended pre-series B funding round. With KIP joining as a strategic investor, LiveIn aims to rapidly expand its presence in the region, improving the quality and affordability of living spaces for young adults. The funds will go towards expanding the proptech startup’s operations in Thailand, as well as two new markets – Indonesia and Vietnam. In addition to KIP, InterVest and Wavemaker Partners, LiveIn has attracted investments from notable global investors in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and the US.
The Bird & Bird team comprised Partner Marcus Chow and Associate Tan Xing Yi.
Lead partner Marcus commented, “We are pleased to support Korea Investment Partners in its strategic investment in LiveIn. It is heartening to be part of the team contributing to the vision of creating vibrant and accessible communities for young adults in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia is on track to emerge as an economic powerhouse, and we look forward to more collaborations with KIP to continue effecting positive change in this region and beyond.”
