Gitty Narymany Shandy

I am an associate in our Competition Law practice in Düsseldorf. I advise clients of all sizes on various topics of EU and German competition law, including on M&A transactions (merger control & FDI), corporate cooperations, sales & distribution and IP-related matters.

I am especially interested in the intersection of antitrust and AI and emerging technologies more generally. Currently, I am finishing my PhD on the influence of pricing algorithms on competition law.

Additional sectors that I regularly advise on include the automotive industry and the retail and consumer sector.

• Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I gained experience in competition law by working for the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office as part of my legal clerkship. I also worked in the competition law practice of a major global law firm in Düsseldorf.
