I am a Data Protection Advisor within Bird & Bird Privacy Solutions.

I have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, as well as Master of Laws (LLM) in Advanced Studies in Law and Digital Technologies from Leiden University, The Netherlands. I recently completed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination – (SQE1).

Before joining Bird & Bird I worked at a large European automotive manufacturer within their legal department assisting both UK and Irish markets regarding data protection compliance and data processing activities. This includes data subject rights procedures and processes (access, rectification, deletion, objection requests), incident reporting, legitimate interest (LI) and data protection impact assessment (DPIA) advisory activities. I assisted the legal department vis-à-vis connected vehicle contracts, data sharing agreements, and associated legal data protection requirements surrounding accountability, transparency and (joint)-controllership responsibilities.

My experience covers both EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy-related activities, with a particular focus on AI, connected services and adtech.

In the past, I worked for a technology consultancy company which focused on devising, implementing, and monitoring the creation and the optimisation of Personal Information Management Systems (PIMS).
