Karim Laribi

As head of the Employment team and member of the Dispute Resolution team of the Budapest office, I have experience in a wide range of general and M&A related employment matters, as well as employment litigation and other commercial matters and disputes.

Since joining Bird & Bird in 2016, I have gained extensive experience in various complex employment matters, including reorganisation and outsourcing projects, termination and cross-border employment matters and I regularly work on the employment aspects of M&A transactions. I also have dispute resolution experience in both employment and complex commercial litigation.

I have a passion for sports law and the development of esports in Hungary. Since joining the firm, I have also gained experience in sports regulation and governance and I understand the links between employment and sports law.

I am also passionate about environmental protection. I have been working for the Hungarian Jane Goodall Institute as a pro-bono legal advisor since 2019.

In addition to legal expertise, I also gained project management experience during the virtual secondments I was assigned to previously. I spent six months with an international manufacturer of printers and office software producer and almost a year with a Hungarian manufacturer of sports equipment.

I speak English in addition to my native Hungarian.
