About Me

I am a Legal Director in our Intellectual Property Group in London. I focus on technologies that are applicable to the telecommunications and media sectors.

In recent years my practice has focussed on the technology, communications and media sectors. I have a broad range of legal experience relating to technologies that are applicable to the telecommunications sector.

In particular, I have gained experience in patented technologies that relate to video coding (both H.264 and H.265/HEVC), memory (both volatile and non-volatile) as well as standardised technology relating to cellular communications (2G, 3G and 4G).

I also have a particular interest in IP rights in video games. I currently act for the publisher and developer of Grand Theft Auto V in relation to copyright infringement proceeding before the High Court and have previously advised other computer games sector clients in relation to IP licensing and use of third party IP in computer games.

In addition to High Court proceedings, I have acted for clients in relation to proceedings before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and the Court of Appeal. Many of my cases also involve parallel proceedings in other jurisdictions and I am experienced in liaising closely with lawyers from multiple jurisdictions (including Europe, Asia and North America) to maintain a consistent overall cross boarder litigation strategy for clients.

I contribute to a number of legal publications including the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents.
