Megan Harrison

I am an associate in our Commercial Group in London and am a member of our Retail & Consumer, Wellness, and Media, Entertainment & Sport sector teams.

I primarily support consumer facing brands in a variety of different industry sector areas including food & beverage, retail, fashion, beauty, wellness and education.

I assist clients with both their domestic and international expansion – whether this is by helping them to enter new markets and or exploiting new growth channels. I regularly advise our clients on and assist them with the drafting and negotiating of franchising agreements, e-commerce agreements as well as key supply chain arrangements including manufacturing, distribution, supply, warehousing and logistics agreements. My commercial contract experience also includes software licences, outsourcing arrangements, SaaS agreements and sponsorship agreements.

Compliance with consumer regulation is another area in which I advise our clients, which includes preparing website and subscriptions terms & conditions and assisting with social media and marketing concerns such as copy clearance, ASA compliance and promotional terms and conditions.

In recent years I have completed two client secondments: one of which was at a large multinational bank; and the other a global food & beverage client. These in-house experiences have provided me with a deep insight into the challenges and opportunities facing international businesses, both in terms of protecting their existing assets and goodwill, and their international strategy and growth.

Before joining Bird & Bird I worked in-house for both a television rights company and a media, technology and gaming company. From these experiences I have gained invaluable commercial knowledge, supporting businesses which are adapting to and exploiting technological advances.
