Mia Herrman

I am an associate in our Tech Transactions team in Sydney, specialising in technology, cybersecurity and privacy advisory work.

I support technology-driven clients through complex legal and regulatory landscapes. I advise on broad issues related to data protection and consumer law. This includes cyber risk management and incident response upon data breaches and regulatory investigations. I also work on range of IT and technology contracts, such as outsourcing agreements, e-commerce, software development and license agreements.

I have a strong interest in highly-regulated critical infrastructure and emerging technology. Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked at Optus across telecommunications, privacy and consumer law matters. I draw on my in-house background to balance specialised compliance needs with clients' commercial objectives. I enjoy applying my legal and regulatory experience to deliver pragmatic solutions. I have authored publications in academic journals on several topics including media law and policy.
