I am a senior associate in our Intellectual Property team based in Brussels, where I practice all aspects of IP, with a particular focus on the enforcement and management of soft IP rights – namely trade mark and copyright - across a range of industries including fashion & luxury goods, food & beverage, and media, entertainment and sports.
My interest in IP stems from its intrinsic link to new technologies and innovation, which often require both creative thinking and pragmatic legal solutions.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience representing clients in contentious matters relating to the validity of IP titles before the General Court of the EU, as well as the enforcement of IP rights before national courts in Belgium and Luxembourg, including before the Benelux Court of Justice.
My daily practice requires interaction with administrative bodies, in particular the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP), the Belgian media regulators (CSA and VRM) and the Federal Public Service for Economy (FPS Economy).
I am well-versed in drafting waivers, assignments, and licensing agreements for IP and related rights, primarily in the context of portfolio management, audiovisual productions, and R&D projects.
I regularly advise clients on a variety of matters relating to neighbouring fields, including the protection of trade secrets and the compliance with consumer law and fair trade practices, especially in relation to packaging, advertising and commercial communications.
My native language is French, and I am fluent in English and Dutch.
