Tom Nicholls

I am an associate in the Dispute Resolution group, based in Sydney. I have also worked in our London office with the Sports Disputes & Regulation group. I assist our clients, primarily in the media, entertainment, sport and technology sectors, in resolving complex issues and disputes.

Since entering practice, I have worked on and been closely involved in multiple high value and complex matters across Australia and the UK. This includes large class action litigation, cross-jurisdictional disputes and sports regulatory disputes. I find the blend of experience I have from working across jurisdictions and sectors provides me with a unique perspective.

I also have experience in non-contentious settings, having advised global corporations on complex issues in areas such as consumer protection and data protection.

My particular interest lie in contemporary areas of law such as sports disputes and regulation, online safety and data protection. I enjoy watching these areas evolve and adapt to constantly changing landscapes, and ensure I keep up to date with developments.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked at a large national firm where I was involved in several notable class actions and high value disputes, across multiple sectors.
