International law firm Bird & Bird today appoints technology and communications expert Pia Ek as a partner in its Helsinki office.
Pia is a renowned technology and communications practitioner with over 20 years of experience advising on cross-border digital transformation projects, outsourcing, cloud services, ICT and IP driven transactions as well as IoT, licensing and e-commerce assignments.
Pia is a popular lecturer on topics related to TMT, sports law and commercial contracts, both commercially and academically. She is the chairperson for the Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS) as well as a long-standing member of the Finnish Sports Arbitration Board. For over 13 years, Pia has been ranked a leading expert in directories such as Chambers Global and Europe, the Legal 500, Who's Who Legal and Women in Business Law Awards.
Pia’s arrival is a key part of Bird & Bird’s strategy to expand its Tech & Comms sector group in Finland and across the firm’s international network.
