International law firm Bird & Bird advises G.M.P. Group S.r.l. (GMP Group), a specialist designer and mass producer of high-quality aluminium components for the automotive industry, on an international level in its acquisition of Reedijk Wheels and Tyres Group B.V. (Reedijk Wheels and Tyres), a specialist in car wheels and tyres, and an (exclusive) importer/distributor for the Benelux and/or Europe.
The sellers of Reedijk Wheels and Tyres, Bert Reedijk, Lennart Monster, Jurriën van der Struik and Wouter van Wingerden, have reinvested part of the purchase price by acquiring a stake in the acquisition vehicle of the GMP Group, together with Simest S.p.A., which acted as lender and investor in the transaction.
The strategic cooperation will further elevate the two companies as leading players in the production and distribution of tyres and alloy wheels in European markets. The cooperation is the next step in a series of profitable collaboration between the two companies.
Bird & Bird advised GMP Group in the transaction, with an Italian and Dutch cross-border team.
Of Counsel Daniele Raynaud, senior associate Elena Beccegato and associate Angelo Fiorello handled the Italian aspects of the transaction.
