Chelsea Chan

I am a senior associate in Bird & Bird's Corporate and Commercial group in Singapore. I am involved in a range of corporate work for clients in various industries such as technology and communications, energy and utilities, healthcare, media, entertainment and retail and consumer.

I have worked on corporate transactional matters such as mergers & acquisitions, start-up funding and corporate restructuring. In these matters, I have acted for large multinational companies, local small and medium enterprises and venture capitals.

I also advise on matters relating to corporate governance and regulatory compliance for clients from various industries. For example, advising foreign companies wishing to expand into Singapore on the applicable corporate and regulatory regime, and how to structure their businesses to comply with local requirements.

On top of acting for companies, I also act for charities, associations and statutory boards on their various legal and governance needs.

• Acted for LYS Energy Group on its S$14 million green loan obtained from the United Overseas Bank (UOB) under UOB's Green Infrastructure Framework as part of its U-Solar programme
• Acted for POET Technologies Inc. (TSXV: PTK) on its US$28 million divestment of its subsidiary, Denselight Semiconductors Pte. Ltd.
• Advised Singapore's energy regulator, the Energy Market Authority (EMA), on matters relating to its Energy Storage System
• Advised several public companies in the beverage industry on a group restructuring exercise
• Advised a NASDAQ-listed cybersecurity company on its expansion of its products into Singapore's market
