Bird & Bird soars up global dealmaker league tables for 2015

International law firm Bird & Bird has bettered its rankings for corporate work in the annual Thomson Reuters mid-market M&A review for 2015, reaching the top 50 in seven league tables across Europe and Latin America.

The firm's international Corporate presence was recognised for its regional mid-market M&A involvement (any deals valued up to $500 million) in Europe, the Nordics and Latin America, and in the country league tables for the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain.

In Spain, the firm flew into the rankings for the first time at number 19. The firm also made a first-time appearance in the rankings for Latin America at number 35. The Corporate group significantly improved its rankings in the UK (rising 78 places to 27) and the Nordics (up from 53 to 25), and maintained a steady growth in Italy (up from 31 to 20) and Germany (up from 46 to 42).

The firm's joint heads of the international Corporate group at Bird & Bird are partners Peter Veranneman in Germany and Stefano Silvestri in Italy. They said of the rankings:

"These results represent a significant effort on behalf of the international group and demonstrate the strength in depth across our various offices. We are increasingly advising on larger and more complex cross-border transactions and are able to support our clients' growth strategies across the globe as a result."
