I am a member of the Russia Desk based in London and I am a Belarussian qualified lawyer who is admitted to practice Russian law. I have also qualified as an English solicitor by completing a training contract with Bird & Bird in April 2016.
Having qualified in 1996, whilst in Belarus, I was the head of the legal department of a large media company and successfully started and ran my own legal practice. My experience as an in-house lawyer and as the head of my own practice taught me to always see a particular legal issue from a broader prospective. Having accumulated years of experience in advising clients on commercial law aspects, I am now able to focus more on solving clients' problems rather than merely answering questions.
Throughout my career I have gained experience in commercial and corporate law, commercial litigation, IT/IP, employment law, privacy and data protection and regulatory transactional work. I have extensive experience advising on cross-border matters and managing multi-jurisdictional projects for the firms' clients. My excellent Russian language skills and background knowledge of legal work in the CIS countries based on more than ten years of legal experience in the region is a good asset when parallel drafting and verbal communications in both English and Russian languages are required.
I have contributed to a great number of international projects providing assistance in co-ordinating the projects and translating legal documents into/from English/Russian. For matters that require expertise and assistance on the ground, I provide a co-ordinated service by working with referral law firms in Russia and other CIS countries.
