I am a senior associate in the EU & Competition Law team at Bird & Bird.
I have been advising clients since 2012, and specialise in competition and consumer protection law.
I have advised and represented clients on merger control matters in proceedings pending before the President of the Polish Competition and Consumer Protection Authority, and the European Commission. I have handled complex precedent-setting cases involving market research and ending in conditional decisions. I have been involved in administrative and judicial proceedings as to antitrust matters (anticompetitive agreements and abuse of dominance) and consumer protection, including, inter alia, cases involving fines imposed on company officers.
I have experience in advising clients on drafting leniency applications, as well as in inspections and dawn raids conducted by anti-trust authorities. I was involved in a project in which the Constitutional Court ruled that the provision excluding the option to challenge a court's consent to search was unconstitutional.
I have also represented clients in lawsuits involving competition protection (i.e. private enforcement matters) and combating unfair competition. I have experience in handling business evidence and obtaining evidence as part of discovery procedure. I have also advised clients in projects involving distribution and franchise systems, consortia, R&D agreements, purchase and production agreements and other cooperation agreements, as well as compliance systems. I have verified and prepared regulations applied by undertakings in commercial transactions with consumers, and I have provided clients with legal assistance on state aid and counteracting abuse of contractual advantage. I have delivered numerous training courses to clients and lawyers, including members of the Warsaw Bar Association.
Before joining Bird & Bird I have gained experience in Polish and international law firms as a member of specialised competition law teams.
I am the winner of the first prize awarded by the President of the Competition and Consumer Protection Authority for the best MA thesis in 2012 focusing on competition protection.
