I am an AI and Cyber partner and Head of our Privacy & Data Protection team in Warsaw

On 17 March, our Warsaw office held an Early Birds Breakfast seminar attended by 34 representatives from public institutions, State services and key companies.

The seminar focused on the discussion of the current legislation on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), its practical significance for technology users, and future legislative development in this area.

A key topic covered  was how to minimise the legal risks associated with the use of drone technology, and the requirements for UAV users from the perspective of privacy and data protection law, as well as aviation and insurance law.

The seminar was led by Tomasz Prost (Associate, Warsaw), Izabela Kowalczuk-Pakuła (Head of our Warsaw Privacy & Data Protection Group), and Tomasz Dolata, insurance specialist from Ergo Hestia. Maciej Gawroński (Head of our Warsaw office) was also present to give an opening speech and to answer questions.

The seminar was attended by representatives from public institutions responsible for the supervision of drones in public spaces and for the development of this sector (i.e. the Civil Aviation Authority of Poland, Operational Command of The Polish Armed Forces, Polish Air Force Institute of Technology, Polish Ministry of National Defence, The National Centre for Research and Development). Attendees also included private sector representatives that provide services related to UAVs or are considering using drone technology in their business (including, Flying school Drony.pl, Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM, Microsoft, Orbis, Poczta Polska, Skydoctors, The Polish Armaments Group, and many more).

The feedback we received from the participants was very positive and we hope to deepen the relationships we established with potential new clients.
