Bird & Bird advised GE Vernova on its acquisition of ROB-EX A/S

International law firm Bird & Bird advised the global energy company, GE Vernova, in acquiring ROB-EX A/S, an IT and engineering company, specialised in software specifically dedicated to production scheduling.

GE Vernova Inc. is an energy equipment manufacturing and services company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Formed from the merger and subsequent spin-off of General Electric's energy businesses in 2024, GE Vernova's technology base helps generate approximately 25% of the world's electricity and has a meaningful role to play in the energy transition. 

With the acquisition of ROB-EX A/S, GE Vernova aims to invest and grow in the critical manufacturing scheduling software space, providing a robust, fully integrated manufacturing software suite that enables enterprise-wide production optimisation from equipment to ERP systems.

The Bird & Bird team consisted of a Danish and Swedish cross-border team led by partner Morten Rosenmejer (Denmark) with assistance from Counsel Caroline Grotenfelt (Sweden), partners Annette Printz Nielsen and Jesper Langemark (Denmark), Counsel Cecilie Ørgaard Hald (Denmark), and associates Mia Boesen, Sophie Hein, Laura Holck, and Magnus Holm Pedersen (Denmark). 

GE Vernova has 75,000 employees across 100+ countries around the world, with approximately 55,000 wind turbines and 7,000 gas turbines.
