Working as associate in our Intellectual Property Group in London, I am experienced in contentious and non-contentious IP matters in telecoms, media, retail and financial services, particularly concerning patents, trade marks, passing off and breach of confidence.
Whilst I have a broad range of contentious and non-contentious experience ranging across all intellectual property rights including copyright, trademarks, patents and passing off, my main areas of focus are trademarks, passing off and designs.
My experience includes trademark clearance work, freedom to operate searches, transactional work and general trademark and design advisory work in the media, tech & comms, financial services and retail sectors. I am also involved in various global brand enforcement projects using innovative solutions to help clients monitor their anti-counterfeit programs in a consistent and cost efficient manner. I regularly advise large brands on issues regarding online infringement and have significant experience in domain name disputes.
Together with my international colleagues, we provide a streamlined process, creating strategies tailored to fit each brand's needs, helping to protect and enforce their rights from online infringement. I had the opportunity to work in-house gaining a real insight into the clients' business operations, allowing me to offer real commercial value across my work.
I also have significant experience in high court litigation and arbitration proceedings. All of the cases I have been involved in have had an international element meaning I have gained significant experience in advising on and coordinating global strategies both with colleagues in Bird & Bird's international offices and other local counsel.
In recent years I've contributed to legal publications including the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
