I am a partner in our Corporate and M&A team in Munich and a member of our Tech & Comms and Life Sciences & Healthcare Sector Groups, offering our clients in-depth experience in all facets of corporate law (transactional and non-transactional), alongside a deep understanding of their sector and business. Beside my legal advice, I am a member of the management of the German offices.

International law firm Bird & Bird has recently advised a Norwegian company Tampnet AS, the world’s largest offshore communications network, on the acquisition of all shares in the German stock corporation, dasNetz AG, a leading provider of wireless offshore connectivity in the German part of the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and certain key ports and coastal areas. This strategic investment expands Tampnet’s footprint in offshore connectivity in the North Sea.

dasNetz AG operates radio transmission sites, some of which are outside of German coastal waters. Under the current German telecommunications act, providing such wireless services offshore requires authorisations by the German national regulatory authority (German Federal Network Agency – Bundesnetzagentur).

Tampnet AS was advised by the following Bird & Bird lawyers: Associate Janine Lanfermann-Schmid (lead), partner Stefan Münch, both Corporate, Munich, senior counsel Valerian Jenny (Regulatory, Frankfurt),  associates Maximilian Koch (Employment, Munich) and project lawyer Kilian Hummel (Corporate, Frankfurt).
