International law firm Bird & Bird advised the majority shareholder Sponsor Capital and the shareholders of Fluo Group Oy on a transaction where H.I.G. Capital acquired a controlling interest in the company.
Established in 2020 through the consolidation of several regional operators, Fluo has quickly grown into a leading Finnish waste management and recycling platform. Bird & Bird has advised Sponsor and Fluo Group through the lifecycle of Fluo.
The investment by H.I.G. Capital will enable Fluo to broaden its integrated service offering, enhance its regional footprint, and accelerate the development of sustainable waste infrastructure across Finland. As part of the transaction, key employees and Sponsor Capital will retain a substantial minority stake, continuing to support Fluo’s long-term growth strategy.
