International law firm Bird & Bird has advised Vanagon Ventures as an investor in the financing round of Holy Technologies GmbH totalling to over €4.3 million.
Vanagon Ventures is a Munich-based venture capital fund that leverages early-stage investment opportunities for digital DeepTech companies in the DACH region. Vanagon invests in “Sovereign-Edge” DeepTech start-ups in B2B sectors such as Industrial AI, NatureTech, and Digital Infrastructure, thereby supporting the next generation of tech founders who are making Europe’s economy competitive, resilient, and sustainable.
Holy Technologies is a European manufacturer of composite components, specialising in the automated production of high-performance carbon fibre parts for the automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing sectors. Their proprietary Infinite Fibre Placement (IFP) technology delivers lightweight components that are cost-effective, fast, and scalable, and can be recycled at the end of their lifecycle.
With the help of this funding round, Holy Technologies is building the world’s first autonomous factory for lightweight components. The factory is designed to operate using artificial intelligence, be scalable, and entirely circular. By employing an AI-driven robotic system that transforms standardised hardware into autonomous production lines, Holy Technologies not only achieves a significant reduction in costs. Thanks to integrated closed-loop recycling, materials are also fully utilised at the end of their lifecycle and reused.
In addition to Vanagon Ventures, Rockstart, SANDS, Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg, EIT Manufacturing, and business angels also participated in the financing round.
Susanne Fromm, General Partner at Vanagon Ventures, commented: “Thanks to the professional support and advice from Bird & Bird, we were able to confidently navigate the complex aspects of this investment and ultimately achieve a successful closing. Holy Technologies is the perfect addition to our DeepTech portfolio, which now includes 18 early-stage companies. The company is building the AI-driven future of manufacturing, and such innovations are crucial for Europe’s long-term competitiveness.”
